Hello! My name is Akira Harper and I am a teacher and educational researcher earning my PhD in STEM Education and Teacher Development. My research and teaching experience focuses on developing curricular and teaching resources, as well as supporting students from racialized and marginalized communities. Students from non-dominant communities deserve access to and opportunities within STEM learning and professional spaces. At Y4STEM, we understand that the STEM field is not a neutral space, and we are deeply committed to serving and supporting the emergent educational needs of our communities in, humanizing ways.
